Each region in Brazil is unique and offers the visitor a festival of colours, aromas and tastes: a land of adventure and luscious vegetation.

Brazil offers a kaleidoscope of landscapes with its arid plateaux, immaculate beaches and sierras arranged around the vast Amazon basin, and it occupies a unique place within Latin America. Like the Portuguese conquistadores as they discovered the coasts of Brazil in the 16th century, we invite you to follow in the footsteps of these great explorers for a journey, a cruise aboard Le Soléal.

Highlights

• UNESCO sites: contemporary 20th century architecture of Montevideo, the “Cristo Redentor” and the impressive Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro, the spectacular historical center in Salvador da Bahia.

• Long white-sand beaches.

• Exceptional discovery of Rio de Janeiro during two days.

• Le Soléal’s navigation, closer the Brazilian coast.

• Passionate and specialized lecturers on board.

Perched on the far southern tip of Uruguay , Montevideo is a white city, and one of the loveliest capital cities of South America. Come and admire the beautiful historical remains dating from Spanish rule; you’ll find the most interesting within the Cuidad Vieja, formerly fortified, its old town dates from the 18th century. The best preserved are the cathedral and the former governmental palace of the Cabildo, both listed historical monuments. In the crook of a vast blue bay, the city is also blessed with beautiful beaches.
Located at the entrance to Guanabara Bay on the southeast coast, Brazil’s former capital city is dubbed the “City of Marvels”. You can’t help being astounded by the panorama that opens up to you from the summit of the Corcovado, the rocky peak known for the statue of Christ the Redeemer. Downtown Rio, studded with luxuriant gardens, offers antique monuments like the National Museum of Fine Arts, side-by-side with modernistic buildings like the cathedral of São Sebastião. On the seafront, Atlântica Avenue takes you alongside the famous Copacabana Beach, but you can also take a cable car to the top of the Sugarloaf Mountain to marvel at the coastline hemmed in by luxuriant green mountainsides.
One of Brazil’s oldest historical cities, Salvador de Bahia stands at the entrance to Bahia de Todos os Santos on the North-East Coast. A profusion of pastel-painted houses adorns this old city, which is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. The Pelourinho quarter will also surprise you with its sumptuous churches like São Francisco, and the nearby richly decorated palaces, especially Rio Branco. Don’t forget to try out the local gourmet specialities like those melt-in-the-mouth coconut sweets, the Bahia cocadas. Salvador is also a melting pot of cultures, and this is reflected in the arts and crafts stalls of the Mercado Modelo, two paces from the shoreline.
Founded in the 16th century, the city of Recife stands on Brazil’s North-East Coast. The historical centre boasts elegant pastel-coloured mansions with stucco facades that stand out from the city backdrop. You can contemplate the baroque cathedral of São Pedro standing on a vast paved square and admire the azulejos frescos in the church of São António, not far from the neoclassic theatre of Santa Isabel. On the waterfront, the long beaches of Pina and Boa Viagem beckon with emerald water and fine sand under shady coconut palms, while modern business blocks rear skyward to form a striking backdrop.

Le Soleal

Vessel Type: Luxury Small Ship

Length: 142 metres

Passenger Capacity: 264

Built: 2013

Sailing under the French flag, this magnificent yacht of only 132 staterooms and suites, with balconies, joined in 2013. You will be enchanted by the contemporary decor inspired by the luxury yachting world, with fluid lines and a modern colour scheme combining natural wood with shades of grey and white.

A refined ambience is enhanced by the quality of the workmanship and materials: white Corian counters in the lobby contrast with the warmth of leather to recall a boat's hull, while the central scuplture of enamelled pieces takes its inspiration from the sea.  In the loungebar, the carpet picks up a tennis stripe theme symbolising a certain idea of cruising, one synonomous with French elegance and a chic seaside spirit.
