On arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel located on the famous Copacabana Beach. Stay: Three Nights: Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana Palace
Today is sure to be a highlight as you make your way to Corcovado, the mountain famous for its iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer. Visit the statue and travel to the platform at its peak for stunning views over downtown Rio, Sugarloaf Mountain and Copacabana Beach. At sunset, ride a cable car to the peak of Sugarloaf Mountain, stopping mid-way to enjoy a caipirinha while you admire the sweeping view. Return to ground level and spend the evening dining on a delicious Brazilian BBQ.
This morning, enjoy your selected sightseeing activity. You may wish to embark on a tour through local favelas - the Brazilian term for shanty town. Alternatively, set out on a colonial tour of the city. Or, perhaps enjoy a Jeep tour taking you deep into Tijuca Forest, past waterfalls and fragrant tropical fruit trees. Later, the evening is yours to spend at leisure, providing a fantastic opportunity to experience Rio de Janeiro’s vibrant nightlife.
Board your flight to Iguassu Falls, an impressive series of waterfalls which straddle the borders of Argentina and Brazil. This afternoon walk to a viewing platform for a panoramic view of the falls. Get up close to the thundering cascades on a Jet Boat Ride Safari. Tonight dine at Ipê Grill at your hotel. Stay: Two Nights: Iguassu Falls, Hotel das Cataratas
Today we venture into the Argentinian side of the falls. Ride the Rainforest Ecological Train through the forest to a series of walkways and viewing points, including one directly over the 82 metre-deep Devil’s Throat.
Awake near the beautiful Iguassu Falls and enjoy breakfast at your hotel. This afternoon fly to the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Stay: Three Nights: Buenos Aires, Alvear Palace Hotel
Enjoy a tour of Buenos Aires today before visiting the city’s oldest barrio (district). The rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace.
Transfer to the airport and board your included flight to Ushuaia, the capital of Tierra del Fuego. On arrival you’ll be transferred to your luxury expedition ship, Le Lyrial Greeted by your knowledgeable Expedition Leader and a team of expert naturalist guides with a contagious passion for the White Continent, the atmosphere aboard is one of excitement and anticipation. Enjoy some time to settle into your cabin and explore the ship before heading to the restaurant for the Captain’s Welcome Dinner where you’ll get a glimpse into the action-filled days to come. The major attraction of the world’s most untouched continent is its awe-inspiring landscapes and spectacular wildlife, and at dinner, you’ll get the opportunity to meet your like-minded fellow passengers. Afterwards, head to the deck to admire the mountainous scenery of South America’s most southerly tip on an early evening cruise down the Beagle Channel in the Tierra del Fuego Archipelago. Your wildlife spotting begins here as you pass colonies of Magellanic penguin, Rock Cormorants and sea lions.
Over the course of the next two days, you’ll cross the Drake Passage, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans between Cape Horn and the South Shetland Islands. During this time, you’ll learn all about the adventures ahead as you participate in a range of informative, entertaining and interactive presentations on the wildlife, history and geology of Antarctica.
Enjoy your second day cruising through the Drake Passage towards Antarctica.
On arrival in Antarctica, your itinerary becomes flexible in order to maximise your discovery of this enchanting world of ice and water. Utilising the vast knowledge of your experienced naturalist guides and Expedition Leader, your Captain will charter a course based on the most exciting sightseeing opportunities available and the most favourable ice and weather conditions. For the next five days, you’ll enjoy morning and afternoon Zodiac rides with your Expedition Team, getting you right up close to the glaciers. Experience some of the most unique wildlife viewing in the world as you’re taken to visit gentoo, chinstrap and Adélie penguin rookeries. You’re also likely to encounter Weddell, crabeater, leopard and Antarctic fur seals. These chilly waters are often frequented by hunting orca and the breaching forms of humpback and minke whales, so be sure to keep an eye out. Although landing sites will vary depending on conditions, the route will feature the most scenic bays and channels, including the stunning Lemeire Channel and Neko Bay, where icebergs loom in a shade of captivating blue. Head to the shores of Deception Island, an active volcano surrounded by distinctive black sand. Once an old whaling station, you will see giant barrels and bleached white whale bones scattered along the deserted beaches. Here you’ll also see impressive elephant seals as they lounge on the uniquely-coloured sand. During your time around the Peninsula, you may even get the chance to stop at Port Lockroy, an active scientific base currently studying gentoo penguins. Here, you can take the opportunity to send a postcard with a rare Antarctic stamp.
The adventure continues as you return across the Drake Passage back towards Ushuaia. Along the way, be sure to keep a keen eye out for the wildlife that may be encountered en route, with many whales, dolphins, giant petrels, albatross and penguins frequenting these waters.

Then, travel to the Moray archaeological site, a fascinating collection of ancient terraced fields which were likely used by the Incas for agricultural experiments. Here, enjoy stunning views out over the deep terraces during lunch at El Parador de Moray.
Board PeruRail’s Vistadome train and admire the mountainous Andean landscape as you travel to Machu Picchu. On arrival at the ruins, set off on a guided tour. Le Lyrial

Vessel Type: Luxury Small Ship

Length: 142 metres

Passenger Capacity: 224

Launched: 2015

A sleek silhouette, a welcoming intimate atmosphere, discover aboard this new ship the philosophy that has made our sisterships such a success: the spirit of Yacht Cruises.

Sailing under the French flag, this magnificent yacht of only 122 staterooms and Suites, with balconies, will join our fleet in April 2015. You will be enchanted by the contemporary decor inspired by the our destinations and the blue light of the Vega star in the Lyra constellation. The result is a subtle variation around a palette of blues, ranging from the  luminous delicate grey-blue of the Polar ice to splashes of the vivid turquoise blue found in  Mediterranean coves

A refined ambiance is enhanced by the quality of the workmanship and materials: white Corian counters in the lobby contrast with the warmth of leather to recall a boat’s hull, while the central sculpture of enamelled pieces takes its inspiration from the sea. In the loungebar, the carpet picks up a tennis stripe theme symbolising a certain idea of cruising, one synonymous with French elegance and a chic seaside spirit.
