Magna Carta

River Boat

Magna Carta

Vessel Type:  Luxury Hotel Barge

Length: 117 feet

Passenger Capacity: 8

Built: 1930

Magna Carta moves slowly along the most attractive stretches of the River Thames, taking in royal estates, historic towns and quiet countryside. The route builds in time to step ashore for galleries, stately homes and traditional boatyards, with the Thames Towpath always available for walking or cycling. The pace suits the landscape: unhurried, scenic and centred on long views and well-preserved history.

The barge itself is set up as a compact country-house hotel. Built in the 1930s and now fully refitted, it uses mahogany, teak and oak to create a warm interior, balanced by modern features such as underfloor heating and contemporary en-suite suites. Large windows open the saloon and dining area to the riverbanks, while a heated spa pool and alfresco dining deck extend the space outside. Accommodation is limited to eight guests, keeping service focused and the atmosphere quiet.
