Journey to the icy edge on our northern-most expedition

Svalbard translates to the ‘cold edge’ in old Norse and is the perfect place to experience polar bears, pack ice and Arctic history among jagged peaks and glaciated terrain. Whether you are a sea kayaker or cruiser, the Svalbard archipelago is a must-visit destination.

All guests on our Svalbard Expedition Cruise can expect to enjoy at least two outings per day cruising in zodiacs, exploring a series of wonderful landing sites in a small group and soaking up the surroundings ashore. We have an exceptional team of passionate polar experts to help you enjoy and understand the region’s wildlife, geology, flora and history onboard and while out adventuring. For those looking to add to their adventure, we have a range of optional activity packages outlined below.

Highlights

• Polar Bear Encounters: Witness the majestic ‘Kings of the North’ in their natural habitat amidst pack ice and glaciated landscapes.

• Zodiac Adventures: Embark on daily cruises through icy waters, exploring jagged peaks and remote landing sites with expert guides.

• Midnight Sun Photography: Capture Svalbard’s stunning wildlife and ever-changing light with optional expert tuition from a grand master photographer.

Arrive in Longyearbyen and transfer to our hotel.

Explore Longyearbyen independently before joining your group for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on the expedition ship to sail through Isfjorden, marking the start of our Arctic adventure. Our journey is governed by ice, weather, and wildlife encounters, influencing our daily plans. We aim for daily Zodiac cruises and shore landings, with potential visits to select locations based on these conditions.

Disembark from expedition ship early and begin our journey back home.
